Position Title: Assistant Controller

Location: St. Charles, MO

Assistant Controller Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with the Controller to efficiently complete the month-end close and compile the financial statements.
• Partners with the Project Managers to track the progress of projects.
• Analyzes the performance of projects and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Identifies control gaps and weaknesses.
• Establishes effective controls and monitors for efficiency.
• Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
• Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
• Monitors cost accounting process to ensure accurate job costing.
• Provide financial analyses as needed.
• Work with the Controller and Auditors to conduct year-end audits.
• Involved in physical inventory and cycle counts.
• Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Required Skills and Experience:

• College Accounting degree and 2+ years of experience in cost and process accounting.
• Manufacturing and job cost experience.

Preferred Electrician Skills:

• Experience with Great Plains or similar software.
• Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) certification or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain stationary in a sitting position for up to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to communicate via phone and in person to vendors and employees.
• Required use of fingers and hands to operate a computer.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
