Stereotaxis Showcases Advancements in Medical Technology
As a pioneer in designing and manufacturing cardiac catheterization labs, Stereotaxis decided that an effective way to capture the attention of their customers was with a Mobile Technology Unit (MTU). Craftsmen Industries worked with Stereotaxis to customize a MTU encompassing cutting edge products and the ability to present onsite demonstrations.
Craftsmen custom-built a 53-foot double drop expandable trailer for Stereotaxis to provide a "hands on" experience with magnetic guided interventions. The magnetic system is a large piece of capital equipment, each magnetic weighs a ton. As Stereotaxis advanced in the use of magnetics in heart procedures, they needed to show the hospital administrators what they would be investing in. only mobile magnetic navigation system and the first Odyssey workstation for information management and remote connectivity.
When in show mode, the Mobile Technology Unit occupied nearly 1,000 square feet. While confined to a trailer space 110 inches high, 8 feet wide and 53 feet long, it was critical that Craftsmen work closely with Stereotaxis to ensure the equipment fit properly and remained undamaged when the vehicle was in travel mode.
The results of the Mobile Technology Unit were outstanding! The unit commenced May 2007 in Denver, CO, at the Heart Rhythm Society – the largest gathering of Electrophysiologists in the world. Over 1,000 physicians came to the mobile unit to “test drive’ the system. Since then the unit has traveled the entire U.S, visiting over 40 hospitals.
